Shavuot Studies in Karmiel

A special study night took place in Karmiel at the beginning of June just before Shavuot. It was the forth night of its kind, a result of a coalition of organizations in Karmiel and Misgav with a pluralistic approach to Jewish studies, culture and communal activities.
It started with music, using drams, and ended with music: sing along of Jewish and Israeli songs accompanied with Jewish prayers.
Five workshops took place:
- Dr, Avi Kadish, a Gandel tutor, gave a class on Honor your father and your mother.
- Tova Sacher, a tutor both at the Gandel Institute and at the Galilee Foundation for Value Education, taught You shall not steal.
- Rav Yishai Ron and his students looked at I am the Lord your God,.
- Einat Kremmer from Jewish Nature studied texts about You shall not covet.
- Rav Gadi Raviv concentrated on You shall not kill.
The evening ended with a session about The 10 Commandments in Films by Rav Reuven Resnick.
Members of the local poetic group Voices in the Galilee took part in all the workshops, reading their own poetry as well as others.
